The Center for Animal Research and Education (CARE) provides individualized, compassionate care for nearly 40 exotic wild cats, eight lemurs, a llama, and a tortoise. Each animal’s unique needs are carefully assessed, and we customize their diets, veterinary care, habitats, and enrichment to ensure their long-term health and happiness.

What sets CARE apart is our commitment to providing a sanctuary for animals that many other facilities cannot or will not accept. We specialize in caring for the elderly, the sick, and those with special needs—animals that require more intensive and specialized attention.

At CARE, we prioritize the well-being of the animals already under our care, maintaining a manageable population to ensure that every animal receives the individualized attention and resources they need. By carefully balancing our capacity, we avoid overextending our resources, ensuring that the quality of care remains exceptional.

When space and resources allow, we work closely with animal welfare organizations, law enforcement, and government agencies to respond to rescue requests. Each potential intake is carefully evaluated to ensure that we can provide the best possible home and meet the animal's needs without compromising the care of our current residents.

Our dedication to individualized care, ethical rescue practices, and our focus on special-needs animals underscores our commitment to giving these incredible beings a safe, loving, and dignified life.
