Michele Gerlach
Michele was born in Oklahoma, but she calls Texas home. Before moving to Decatur, Texas in 2014, Michele lived in Germany for over thirteen years and then in New Zealand for over five years.
She got her AA from TCJC in 1993 and then, after moving to Germany in 1994, completed a degree in business/foreign language correspondence at a business college in Essen, Germany in 1996.
While raising her five children and homeschooling, Michele has also been bookkeeping for over 25 years. In 2020 Michele was asked to join the board of the Wise Performing Arts Guild, a local non-profit organization. She has also been the treasurer and bookkeeper for this organization for the last four years. More recently, in June of 2023, Michele began assisting CARE with bookkeeping. She appreciates the opportunity to be a part of CARE and sees her small part in the care of these animals as an adventure.
In her free time, Michele enjoys reading, quilting, and being outside when the weather is just right. She and her three children still living at home have three cats.
