Arctic is the pride and joy of CARE. His beauty and grace is unsurpassed. Unfortunately Arctic is plagued with the often-normal life challenges of a Snow Leopard. A weakened immune system due to the Snow Leopards’ limited gene pool has led to several illnesses. Arctic is hand fed everyday by volunteer Annette Wiley, to assure he receives all the additional vitamins and minerals he needs to survive. “High maintenance” is the phrase often used to describe Arctic. He also requires a specialized environment to survive the Texas heat. Thanks to the generous gift of George Thompson, of Addison, Texas, Arctic enjoys a state of the art, 16 foot tall enclosure, complete with; waterfall, cooled housing, special care lock-down area, completely shaded and many vertical platforms and ramps to assure he gets lots of exercise. We are all blessed to have such a rare and elusive animal grace the grounds of CARE.
