Lemurs

Consider adopting a lemur today!1 of CARE's lemurs is looking for their new adoptive parents!

December 2011 brought a very special addition to our facility, that of a troop of ring-tailed lemurs in desperate need of a home. The lemurs were originally meant to be placed somewhere else, but when that placement fell through, CARE answered the call for a loving, permanent residence for these adorable primates.

In the spring of 2012, CARE staff were surprised by some new additions to our ring-tail group. One of the females gave birth to a single baby. We didn’t even know that she was pregnant when we got them! In the next two months, all of the females in the troop gave birth. It was quite a shock, but we are so happy to have them and see them growing every day.

Thank you to our special sponsors!

We would like to thank 84 Lumber and Triple B Builders who helped provide materials and helped construct the amazing enclosure. We would also like to thank the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary (IEAS) for helping us feed the lemurs every week by donating produce.
